2009-04-03 - Plague Party performed at The Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ. An British explorer sang and a fiendish melodrama villain played accordion...and assaulted our ears with the most disturbing Beach Boys song ever written. Vile cur! We were honored to open for surrealistic one-man-band The Slow Poisoner!

2008-07-19 - Plague Party performed at The Boogie Room in Santa Rosa, CA. This was easily the best performance of the mini-tour and the audience was very enthusiastic. Shampoodle opened the show with an amusing sound-collage on the subject of hair. The Boogie Room is a very rustic venue, a barn with a stage on a rural property. All types of people attended the show and the unity of the community was impressive. A great finale for our modest tour of California! Many thanks to Dr. Deathrock, who made this tour possible.
The set included: Plague Party Time! / Forever Lost (excerpt) / The Thesis Of Inhumanity / Pre-Humous Ghost / Man Of Visions / Nothing Ever Changes In Hell / I Have Crossed The Boundary / Dogs In The Graveyard

2008-07-17 - Plague Party held an impromptu performance at Dolores Park in San Francisco, CA. The show was observed by many onlookers and their dogs. The set was concluded with an awkward drum solo, at which point the band apologized and dashed away down the hill. This critical success was celebrated afterwards with delicious Indian food, and then the band and friends attended a Stan Ridgeway performance. Hurrah!

2008-02-17 - Archbishop Jason Polland performed with his associate Andrew Jemsek for Dr. Deathrock's Birthday Party at The Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ. It was a delightful set and is certainly a prelude to future collaborations. Delicious vegan chocolate cupcakes were provided and Jason ate no less than five. There were four other performers including Jet Kanashi, Manual Sex Drive, The Dead Gear, and Testicular Manslaughter. A diverse and entertaining evening of music! Yes yes yes...
The set included: Forever Lost (excerpt) / The Thesis Of Inhumanity / Pre-Humous Ghost / Man Of Visions / I Have Crossed The Boundary / Dogs In The Graveyard

2007-08-18 - The Nourishment held their second reunion show at The Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ. Jason Polland and Joe Tepperman were joined by Andrew Jemsek and Tristan Jemsek, from the group Haunted Cologne. Many new songs were written especially for the performance. There was a modest crowd of curious spectators. Face-paint and tuxedos were worn. Continental breakfasts were removed from trousers and tossed at the audience. Eventually aformentioned trousers were removed. Jason became so lightheaded while singing that he lost consciousness for an instant during "I Hear What They Say" and fell onto the ground. The audience actually requested one last song upon finishing, so an old song about pants was performed. It was good.
The set included: Love Bloody Love (Food Sewer Food) / Character Beard / Desire Feels So Good When It's Wrong / An Excuse / Continental Breakfast / Waitress Tied Up / And Maybe That's Who Hell Is For / Neighbor / I Hear What They Say / Gasoline... Your Arm / We've Found The Secret Of Life / Apathy For The Devil / Man Of Visions / Paranormal Pair O' Pants

2006-11-11 - Archbishop Jason Polland performed at Sub-Culture Cafe in Tempe, AZ. It should be noted that all the solo performances up to this point have repeated the same voice-and-accordion material originally prepared for the Halloween shows of 2005. All solo performance was henceforth suspended indefinitely.
The set included: The Thesis Of Inhumanity (aborted after one verse and filled with instrumental improvisation) / I Have Crossed The Boundary / Pre-Humous Ghost / Man Of Visions / Dogs In The Graveyard (Jason abruptly announced "That's all, goodnight,"and walked out the door mid-song)

The Thesis Of Inhumanity / Man Of Visions / Prehumous Ghost / I Have Crossed The Boundary / The Night Courier

2006-08-16 - The Nourishment held their reunion show at The Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ. Jason Polland, B.C. Sterrett, Jeremy Matthews, and Mr. Joe Tepperman were all in attendance. We were invited to performance artist Ryan Avery's going-away party, as he was leaving for a two-year mission, and had written that he wanted nothing more than to see The Nourishment before he left. We also had the extreme fortune of Larry "Wildman" Fischer agreeing to perform; he rode up from Los Angeles with Joe. Now... this was a most unusual show, and a unique event. There were at least eighteen acts booked to perform that evening, beginning around 7:30pm. Wildman Fischer performed around 9:30-10pm, to a large and enthusiastic crowd. Other acts included Haunted Cologne, Father's Day, The Coitus, Red Pony Clock, and numerous others. Ryan wanted The Nourishment to perform second-to-last (before his final "Hi My Name Is Ryan" performance), which is an honor in the sense that we were a "headlining" band. When we finally took the stage it was well after 2:00am, and there were only about fifteen people left in the club (whereas I believe a couple hundred had wandered in and out throughout the evening). We gave the best performance we could, and it was a lot of fun... ultimately, this intimate performance was a gift to Ryan, and all of his friends. We all wore matching white suits with pink-and-grey-striped ties, with the following amendments: Jason's suit was water-logged (literally) and muddy, covered in moss and seaweed, and he wore cement-block shoes; Joe's cuffs and pantlegs were burnt, his singed suit covered in soot, with ropes tied around him; Jeremy's suit was slashed and hacked to pieces, and covered in blood; and Blair's suit was stained with caustic green chemicals, and he wore goggles and a protective mask. Two B.C. Sterrett filmstrips were shown. Oh, and the icing on the cake--- during the middle set, in which we performed solo numbers, Wildman Fischer came back onstage to sing two songs! This was truly an honor. For the encore, band manager Phil Lawrence showed up, harassed the band, forced them to play "real music," and then wandered off, leaving the group to end on a very awkward note.
The set included:
Buddy Cried / Pumpernickel Pie / Death Rhapsody / Just Awful / Little White Dots / Plight Of The Duck Mole / Discipline Your Food / This Dead Plant On My Desk (Joe solo) / McDonald's Mouse Vs. Toilet Seat Cat (Joe solo) / Pheromone Cologne (Jeremy solo) / Abortable Adoption (Jeremy solo) / The Thesis Of Inhumanity (Jason solo) / I Have Crossed The Boundary (Jason solo) / Jimmy Durante Is Coming To Town (Wildman Fischer solo) / Memories (Wildman Fischer solo) / Sunburnt And Bruised / Do The Food / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / Somewhere In Space / Windy (sung by Phil Lawrence) / Cud (sung by Phil Lawrence)

2006-08-05 - The Nourishment performed at another House Party in Provo, UT. The line-up consisted of Jason Polland and B.C. Sterrett. Other performers included Finngerhutt, Jesse Tucker, Karii, and Blair & Crissy, who sang songs and performed the Judson Fountain Puppet Show. It was a fun afternoon!
The set included: The Thesis Of Inhumanity (Jason solo) /
Buddy Cried / Pumpernickel Pie / Dogs In The Graveyard / Death Rhapsody / Just Awful / Little White Dots / Discipline Your Food / Do The Food / Paranormal Pair O' Pants

2006-07-15 - The Nourishment performed at a House Party in Provo, UT. The line-up consisted of Jason Polland and B.C. Sterrett. Afterwards an industrial band played, and then the cops showed up and stopped the show. Later two spritely waifs invited us swimming, and a most enjoyable evening unfolded.
The set included: The Thesis Of Inhumanity (Jason solo) /
Buddy Cried / Pumpernickel Pie / Death Rhapsody / Just Awful / Little White Dots / Discipline Your Food

2006-07-10 - The Nourishment rose from its ashes and performed at a Rock & Roll F.H.E. in Provo, UT. The line-up consisted of Jason Polland, B.C. Sterrett, and new recruit Jeremy Matthews (of NSPS). Also performing at this fine house party were the bands Sons Of The Guillotine, and Attractive & Popular. The audience response was positive and it was an enjoyable first show.
The set included: The Thesis Of Inhumanity (Jason solo) /
Buddy Cried / Pumpernickel Pie / Death Rhapsody / Civil War (Jeremy solo) / Just Awful / Little White Dots / Discipline Your Food / Paranormal Pair O' Pants

2006-07-08 - The Nourishment was the subject of a special episode of Delirium In Hi-Fi, on KWCR in Ogden, UT. Songs from all Nourishment-related projects were played, including unreleased and demo tracks. Archbishop Jason Polland was interviewed by B.C. Sterrett, and the two of them performed several songs live on the air. Also of note was a rather lengthy phone call from Phil Lawrence, who happened to be listening in that evening.
The live events included: Just Awful / Man Of Visions / Discipline Your Food / A Phone Call From Phil Lawrence / Death Rhapsody / Little White Dots / The Thesis Of Inhumanity / I Have Crossed The Boundary / Dogs In The Graveyard

2005-10-29 - Archbishop Jason Polland traveled all the way to The Trunk Space in Phoenix, AZ with The Radioactive Chickenheads to promote the new compilation "Mr. Snail's Halloween Party". The Trunk Space is a great little art gallery and performance space! Haunted Cologne (also on the CD) performed, as did Nightwolf, and Iggy Pop (the good one, not that guy from the 70's). The audience clapped along with my last song, and certain fellows sang along with songs they knew, which surprised me so much that I forgot a few lyrics. It was an incredible experience and I met a lot of really nice people! After the show we all went to an excellent vegan chili party. The whole experience has revitalized me. Someday, I shall return to this magical desert oasis...
The set included: The Thesis Of Inhumanity / I Have Crossed The Boundary / Man Of Visions / Dogs In The Graveyard / Pumpernickel Pie / Pre-Humous Ghost / Silence / Paranormal Pair O' Pants

2005-10-22 - Archbishop Jason Polland performed an accoustic set featuring voice and accordion at Koo's Art Center in Long Beach, CA. This was the release party for the excellent spooky compilation CD, "Mr. Snail's Halloween Party". The crowd was friendly, and several old friends showed up, which was super nice, including musical friends The Radioactive Chickenheads and Mr. Uncertain who performed great sets. Mr. Snail himself was in attendance, but seemed to be keeping a "low" profile... er, so to speak.
The set included: The Thesis Of Inhumanity / I Have Crossed The Boundary / Man Of Visions / Dogs In The Graveyard / Pumpernickel Pie / Pre-Humous Ghost / Silence / Paranormal Pair O' Pants

2003-07-27 - Archbishop Jason Polland's films were featured in the Static Consciousness Film Festival at the Wright Auditorium in Pasadena, CA. The movies in question were "Pumpernickel Pie" and "Der Blau Kopfkaese (Mit Senf) Um Tod". Also Joe & The Chickenheads performed an accoustic set between films!

2002-10-10/11/12 - Archbishop Jason Polland had two short videos featured in the Loaf-I Film Festival at the Broadway Film Center in Salt Lake City, UT. The movies in question were "The Milkman Always Knows" and "Industrial Havoc (Appendix A)". How cool!

2001-08-26 - GST Mugwump performed a second solo show at Chain Reaction in Orange County, CA, featuring five originals and five covers.
The set included: Here I Go / Work In Progress / The Tracks Of My Tears / While I Was Me / Mike Loves Roses / A Cat Named Food / Famous People Are All Going To Die / Moulty / Watching Scotty Die / After Hours

2001-08-25 - GST Mugwump debuted a smashing solo performance at The California Institute Of Abnormalarts in North Hollywood, CA. Some drifter did a guest vocal for the song "Continental Breakfast".

2001-04-27 - New Big Black Mr. Super-Soul Bad Sugar Man was spotted at The Living Room in Goleta, CA. Lounge Cthulhu, a guy with a Character Mustache, and a living doll made up the group this time.

2001-03-10 - New Big Black Mr. Super-Soul Bad Sugar Man was sighted at The California Institute Of Abnormalarts in North Hollywood, CA. Other bands at the show included Night Of The Creeps, and SNMNMNM. It was a fun show! NBBMSSBSM were dressed not as robots, but as monsters... A "lounge Cthulhu," a "Mickey Of The Opera", and a faceless mask were at the controls.

2000-12-02 - The Nourishment performed at The California Institute Of Abnormalarts in North Hollywood, CA. Our second C.I.A. performance! It was lots of fun and nobody got hit and we had a Christmas dress code. We passed out "Free Blueberry Muffins" handbills, as Blueberry Muffins have been a political prisoner in this country for far too long. Night Of The Creeps played as well, and they had a Victorian-looking girl onstage playing with dolls for their whole set! As it was our last show of the year, we played our entire current reportoire.
The set included: All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / Pumpernickel Pie / Do The Food / Blackened Heart / Buddy Cried / Man Of Visions / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Slapback / Brain Rape / The Sex / Gasoline... Your Arm / "O" / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / Character Beard

2000-11-19 - The Nourishment performed in The 24'th Annual Doo-Dah Parade in Pasadena, CA. Wow!!! I cannot begin to describe how incredible this experience was. We had a huge and very friendly audience of 40,000 people on either side of the flatbed truck we were riding upon. The band dressed like traditional parade characters--- Aaron was a Shriner, complete with fez; Joe was the Mayor, complete with tophat and monocle; and Jason was a beauty pagent winner, complete with sash and bouquet! Oh yes, and of course David was the traditional gorilla in tuxedo, a common fixture of parades everywhere. We also had Dan as the slightly insane robot Box, to welcome the crowd and threaten to turn them into freeze-dried food! We also had a legion of ground troops, with picket signs, circling the float and handing out flyers to the crowd. Will the Monk, Tawnie the Witch, Rosanna the Cowgirl, Laura the Bearded Lady, and The One Simply Known As Shoshanna all held up signs proclaiming "Legalize Food," "Vote For Dogs," and "Free Blueberry Muffins". (One woman in the crowd actually got mad at us, and shouted: "Stop the politics! This is supposed to be a fun parade! No more politics!" We all laughed heartily afterwards.) Our driver was in a great goth drag outfit, and two other guys were in the cab as well. Our float was a whirlwind of insanity, and the crowd was ultra-enthusiastic! Afterwards, a parade official told us we were "invited back for life, even if we break up!" Hooray!
The set included: Buddy Cried (played once), and these songs played 4 or 5 times each: All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / Do The Food / The Sex / Pumpernickel Pie / "O"

2000-10-27 - The Nourishment performed at The California Institute Of Abnormalarts in North Hollywood, CA. The C.I.A. is a wonder to behold! It's a freak-show museum, broken-down midway, and functioning music club all at once. Jason got punched by an unruly drunkard during the second song, which was, you know, kinda akward, but then the band played the other eleven songs in the set, and everything turned out okay!
The set included: "O" / Paranormal Pair O' Pants (sort of) / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / The Sex / Buddy Cried / Man Of Visions / Blackened Heart / Do the Food / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Slapback / Gasoline...Your Arm / Pumpernickel Pie / Character Beard

2000-10-14 - The Nourishment performed at The Living Room in Goleta, CA. The show was monumentous for two reasons: 1) We dedicated the set to this really cool dog we saw walking around in Jason's neighborhood during the drive to the venue, and 2) We were honored to discover that some members of the audience had gone above and beyond the call of duty, and created "Legalize Food" stickers! They even distributed food propaganda to the unsuspecting masses! Hooray! Other bands that played included the witty and debonaire trio Night Of The Creeps, the geek-rock-monsters SNMNMNM, the malfunctioning robotic nightmare New Big Black Mr. Super-Soul Bad Sugar Man, and a punk band called Justin Bailey. Oh yes, and Jason debuted his Girl Scout uniform, and David the Gorilla disguised himself as a banana!
The set included: All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / Pumpernickel Pie / "O" / Blackened Heart / The Sex / Do The Food / Man Of Visions / Brain Rape / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Laryngectomy / Buddy Cried / Character Beard

2000-09-23 - The Nourishment performed at USC's Ground Zero in Los Angeles, CA. It was quite the Superpickle show! NSPS flew in all the way from Utah, and performed a great set. Hot Waffles were there with lots of new songs to promote their upcoming album, and Joe & The Chickenheads closed the show with poultry chaos. Seamus Kinney from SNMNMNM (a Superpickle band at heart) opened the show with a highly amusing, borderline illegal solo performance. We had a lot of fun!
The set included: My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Do the Food / Blackened Heart / The Sex / Man Of Visions / Gasoline...Your Arm / "O" / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / Pumpernickel Pie / Character Beard

2000-09-21 - The Nourishment performed at Mr. T's Bowl in Highland Park, CA. The club is actually a converted bowling alley, and there was quite a diverse mix of people in attendance. It was a fun show, and the audience was enthusiastic! Jason found a giant styrofoam candy cane backstage, and brought it up with him. The image was too silly... As Joe later remarked, "It looked like something from a Shirley Temple movie!" We also invited a nice girl named Esther onstage to play the Abductee/Abductor Game, and she won a CD!
The set included: "O" / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / The Sex / Man Of Visions / Blackened Heart / Do the Food / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Gasoline...Your Arm / Pumpernickel Pie / Character Beard

2000-09-09 - The Nourishment performed at The Living Room in Goleta, CA. It was the BEST SHOW EVER! We passed out Phil Lawrence propaganda and had our huge "LEGALIZE FOOD" posters. We invited a girl up to try her luck with the "Abductee/Abductor Mix N' Match" game, and she got it on the first try! The audience was awesome and danced, sang along, blew bubbles, and had a lot of fun with us! Hooray! Oh yeah, and Jason dressed like a girl onstage for the first time. Goodbye, boy clothes! Our full band was there: David Cline, Aaron Cohen, Andrew Durkin, Jason Polland, and Joe Tepperman.
The set included: "O" / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / The Sex / Buddy Cried / Man Of Visions / Blackened Heart / Do the Food / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Slapback / Gasoline...Your Arm / Pumpernickel Pie / Character Beard

2000-07-01 - The Nourishment performed at Buster's in Pasadena, CA. A bite-size version of the Nourishment (Jason, Joe, and Andrew) performed in this delightfully small and receptive coffee house. The audience was friendly and intrigued by our music! The set lasted three hours; first a Nourishment set, then Andrew performed a solo set, and finally another Nourishment set. Each Nourishment set contained several poetry readings from the classic "Come Be With Me" by Leonard Nimoy, set to improvised music.
The set included (in no particular order with several songs appearing in both sets): Pumpernickel Pie / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / "O" / Slapback / Just Awful / Buddy Cried / Happy Workers / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / Character Beard / Gasoline... Your Arm / Laryngectomy / Blackened Heart / Man Of Visions / oh yeah, and the Talking Heads' "Psycho Killer" was covered in the first set

2000-05-06 - The Nourishment performed at Koo's Cafe in Santa Ana, CA. The audience was energetic and receptive. It was fun! Jason was on the verge of collapse afterwards, as he had been vomiting nonstop for 7 hours the previous day from a mysterious illness. Temperature 102, up five degrees from normal. Food poisoning?? This was also Blair's last Nourishment show, as he moved to Utah shortly afterwards. Also appearing were the Neo-Maxi Zoom Dweebies, The Von Steins, and two other bands.
The set included: Pumpernickel Pie / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / "O" / Slapback / Just Awful / Buddy Cried / Happy Workers / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / Character Beard

2000-04-29 - The Nourishment performed at USC's Ground Zero in Los Angeles, CA. The full live band's debut show! The best Nourishment performance ever. We passed out "Food Legalization" educational pamphlets to the audience. The live band includes David Cline on guitar and violin, Aaron Cohen on drums, Andrew Durkin on keyboards, Blair Sterrett on accordion, Joe Tepperman on bass, and Jason Polland on vocals and theremin. Also appearing this evening were The Industry Standard, and Full Of Emptiness.
The set included: Pumpernickel Pie / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / "O" / Just Awful / Buddy Cried / Slapback / Happy Workers / My Bathroom Smells Like Food / All My Explosives Are Turning Into Food / Character Beard

2000-04-29 - The Nourishment appeared on The All-U-Can-Eat Buffet Of Musical Madness hosted by Chris Waffle, on K-BEACH in Cypress, CA. They had a delightful interview and played tracks from "Volume Four Billion," unreleased demos, and performed songs live on the air! Band members included Mr. Polland, Mr. Tepperman, and Mr. Sterrett.
The show included: Interview / Buddy Cried (Volume Four Billion) / Interview / Pumpernickel Pie (live) / Interview / Paranormal Pair O' Pants (Volume Four Billion) / Interview / Character Beard (unreleased demo) / Interview / Just Awful (live) / Interview / Slapback (Volume Four Billion) / Interview / "O" (unreleased demo)

2000-03-26 - The Nourishment conducted an hour-long pro-food rally on the corner of Figueroa and 30'th Streets in Los Angeles, CA. They held huge signs displaying the message "LEGALIZE FOOD". As the Academy Awards were taking place about two blocks away at the Shrine Auditorium, hundreds of cars, limos, and other vehicles witnessed the rally. The Nourishment were photographed by scores of people, including journalists from Brazilian and Japanese magazines, and a woman in a limo threw out a bag of Ruffles brand potato chips in support of the cause!

1999-12-04 - The Nourishment performed at The Living Room in Goleta, CA. All the bands played great sets! The Mothras would play videogames, hackeysack, or start reading books in the middle of their songs. Adam Misfortune was uninvited, but a plesant surprise. Blair from Field Trip dressed like the host of "Blue's Clues." The Von Steins introduced their pet plant, Nigel. This was the final show for the Nourishment's "Take Care Of Junior" tour. This was one of our best performances. When Mr. Tepperman broke a guitar string after "Slapback", I played part of a song from our upcoming project while he fixed his instrument. All in all, a delightful end to our first series of experiments as a functioning band!
The set included: Slapback / Blackened Heart (excerpt) / Buddy Cried / Paranormal Pair O' Pants / Just Awful / Cud / Guns & Butter / All My Food Is Exploding / He's A Bit / Who's Gonna Be Satan? / The Button Sings / Pumpernickel Pie / That's Fierce / Apathy For The Devil / Happy Workers

1999-11-13 - The Nourishment performed at USC's Ground Zero in Los Angeles, CA. Field Trip, Jay's Booming Hat, Hot Waffles, and the Von Steins also performed. All the bands played excellent sets, although, in the words of Mr. Tepperman, "[The Nourishment's] in danger of becoming The Shaggs". Indeed. While this isn't exactly a BAD thing, it's also not the direction we're trying to move in.

1999-10-30 - The Nourishment performed at the prestegious Faculty Center of Whittier College in Whittier, CA. The other performers worth mentioning were Joe & The Chickenheads, Dr. Destructo & The Adaptoids, and the Von Steins. The Nourishment dressed as Presidents, to "celebrate Presidents' Day," and ammended all of the song lyrics to include the names of various U.S. Presidents. Also, an accordion strap broke at the beginning of the third song, so we could only play half the set.
The set included: Fillmore / McKinley Cried / Paranormal Ulysses S. Grant / Ike / Zachary Taylor / James Monroe Is Exploding / He's A Whig / Who's Gonna Be Nixon? / Apathy For Chester A. Arthur / Herbert Hoover

1999-10-23 - D.J. Lovecraft and D.J. Barkcraft (really The Nourishment in disguise) were hired to play records for "The Geek Dance" at The Living Room in Goleta, CA. There were no attendees (except for a brief period between 10pm and 11pm), and we sat around for hours, playing music to a dark, empty club. It was very surreal.

1999-08-27 - Archbishop Jason Polland and GST Mugwump finally decided on a band name and performed as The Nourishment at Crazy Jay's Evening of Comedy at The Dixie Belle Lounge in Downey, CA. There were a lot of novelty bands that consisted of either: a) one guy with an accoustic guitar, or b) two guys with two accoustic guitars. Two members of the original Spike Jones band were there to receive the Crazy Jay Lifetime Comedy Award, and Dr. Demento was there to host the event! Dr. Demento also left while we were setting up our instruments. Then we were told we could only play three songs! Hot Waffles played an energetic, fun set after us, and Field Trip was there, but they were cut from the show completely. So I suggested that they perform for us in the parking lot, and they did a wonderful set! So it was sort of a fun show after all, despite the fact that I sustained a mysterious two-inch cut on my hand, lost an orange power extention cord, drove three and a half hours to play eight minutes of music, and regardless of the "free food" we were promised, I had to pay $2 for a small glass of Sprite. I think we are engaging in what is known as "paying our dues". Ah, yes.

After the show an audience member told me I was "like one-half of They Might Be Giants, on acid". A little later, as I was talking with some friends, a vehicle drove by with the occupants blasting "Who's Gonna Be Satan" on their car stereo! What an amazing compliment! What a happy show.
